About Emma
I’m a second-year Psychology and Neuroscience student, which is mostly unrelated to my love for guitar. I've had formal guitar lessons for 5 years as well as participated in multiple rock bands and a guitar ensemble. Despite the challenges that come with learning, I always knew it was something I wanted to stick with. I believe that enjoying the learning process is the most effective way to improve because when you’re having fun, you’re naturally more motivated, relaxed, and eager to keep practicing. My goal with our lessons would be to foster your love for guitar through fun and engaging lessons where you can suggest artists, songs and genres you enjoy, and I will find the best way for you to become the guitarist you want to be!

Hello! I’ve been teaching guitar for over a year, working with students aged 5 to 13. I believe the most important part of learning an instrument is developing a genuine love for music, so I tailor lessons to the styles and songs that interest each student most.
While fingerstyle guitar is my favourite style to play, I began by focusing on lead guitar and later performed in a classical guitar ensemble, so I’m happy to teach a wide range of styles. I’ve also spent a lot of time learning about songwriting, so if you’re interested in writing your own music, I’d be more than happy to incorporate that into our lessons as well.
