About Matt

As a graduate of the University of British Columbia, I bring both academic skill and a passion for helping others learn. My approach focuses on more than just teaching subjects — I teach people how to learn. I believe that with the right connection and approach, anyone can succeed. I offer tutoring in English, Writing, Public Speaking, Elementary Math, Poetry, Shakespearean Literature, Storytelling, Acting, and Test Preparation. Whether it’s mastering grammar, writing essays, delivering confident speeches, or understanding poetry, I adapt each lesson to the individual’s learning style and goals. My lessons emphasize confidence, clarity, and engagement. For writing and literature, I help students understand structure, analysis, and expression. In public speaking, I focus on posture, tone, and stage presence — building comfort in front of any audience. For math and test prep, I provide clear explanations and effective memory techniques to help students retain information and apply it confidently. I often say, “If I can relate to someone, I can teach them anything.” That mindset shapes every session I teach. My goal is to make learning enjoyable, meaningful, and lasting. If you’re looking for a tutor who can not only improve your academic skills but also help you become a confident, capable learner, I’d be glad to guide you on that journey.

As a proud graduate of the University of British Columbia, I bring both academic excellence and a genuine passion for teaching to every session. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students understand their subjects but to teach them how to learn — to think critically, retain knowledge, and build lasting confidence in their own abilities. I offer a wide range of tutoring services designed to meet the diverse needs of learners at all levels. My expertise covers English, Writing, Public Speaking, Elementary Mathematics, Poetry, and Shakespearean Literature. Whether it’s analyzing literary works, improving speech delivery, or strengthening foundational math skills, I tailor each lesson to the student’s unique learning style. I believe that learning should be both engaging and empowering. My approach is rooted in communication and connection — understanding how each individual thinks and learns best. I often say, “If I can relate to someone, I can teach them anything.” That philosophy guides my methods, making even the most complex topics clear, approachable, and memorable.
