About PJ

With over 30 years of guitar playing under my belt and a deep love for music production, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to share the stage with Grammy-nominated and chart-topping artists like Evanescence, Smile Empty Soul, Trapt, Sevendust, Crossfade, Saving Abel, Saliva, and many more. I’ve toured across the United States while signed onto Sony Records, gaining real-world experience in both performing and the music industry behind the scenes. I bring all of that knowledge and energy into everything I teach. In my lessons, you'll also learn the essential terminology, how to properly care for your instrument, and tips for navigating all music genres. I go beyond chords and scales—I cover everything from life in the studio to how to learn songs effectively and even how to use Google to find the right tabs, tools, and resources. It's a full-circle music education, whether you're just starting out or leveling up.

About the lesson

I tailor every lesson to the individual. I always start by letting my students show me what they already know, and we build from there. Whether it’s diving into scales, composing original music, setting up your guitar, or just getting comfortable with the basics, I meet you at your level. My tutorials go beyond just playing the guitar—they’re designed to give you a well-rounded understanding of the instrument, music theory, and the creative process.

Perfect! Learning to play the guitar has always been a dream of mine, although I had no prior musical training.
The excitement and apprehension I felt before my first lesson was intense.
However, as I stepped into the session, I was greeted by PJ, a tutor whose patience and enthusiasm instantly set me at ease.
We discussed guitar terminology, allowing me to ask questions as he began to establish a foundation to build on.
His approach was not just informative but also engaging, blending technical details with practical learning tips. This method allowed me to have a better understanding of the instrument and made the initial learning process both fun and easy to grasp.
The first lesson was free, designed to assess my skill level. Despite it being an evaluative session, it turned out to be incredibly enriching. PJ’s instructional style made the experience enjoyable, and I left with a sense of accomplishment and a newfound eagerness to continue.
As I look forward to my next session, I feel confident that PJ’s patience and engaging tutoring will make the journey of learning to play the guitar a delightful adventure.
