About Ivy
Hello! I’m a guitar instructor with 4 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in World Music specializing in Guitar Traditions. My background blends academic training with practical experience in metal, shred, and progressive rock. These styles inspire both speed and creativity. I love helping students master them.
Lessons focus on technical growth. Speed comes from control. Students practice alternate picking, sweep picking, tapping, and legato techniques. Each exercise builds strength and coordination.
I teach both younger players and adult learners. Lessons are personalized for each student. Everyone progresses at a different pace.
Some students want to improve rhythm playing. Others want to shred fast solos. Both paths are exciting. Music theory supports every lesson. Scales and phrasing become practical tools. We explore improvisation step by step with scales, chord tones, and motifs. Rock and blues techniques like bends, vibrato, slides, and legato are practiced carefully. These elements bring solos to life. I also show how to build phrases that flow naturally.
Some students focus on jazz improvisation and melodic ideas. Others prefer energetic rock and blues solos. I support both approaches, guiding each student to develop their personal voice. Technical mastery, creativity, and listening skills grow together through structured exercises. The goal is confident, expressive soloing. Soon, you'll be shredding with confidence.
