About Emily
I have been tutoring and teaching for more than 2 years. I worked as a teaching assistant, running tutorials and office hours, and marking papers while undertaking my Masters degree in Canada. Once moving to Scotland, I took up private tutoring and since then have worked with nearly a dozen students, several of which became long-term. These range in age from 4 years old to A-level, and in requirements as learning English and studying for exams. All of my students' teachers noted significant improvement in their learning while working with me, including raising their grades to passing level or exceeding these.

I offer students a flexible, adaptive teaching style that adheres to iterative methods. Repetition, questions, and solution-finding are the keys to teaching students the skills required to explore their education in an attentive and guided but self-motivated practice. I believe that teaching should be about offering students the skills and knowledge they aid their education even after I am no longer their tutor. More than that, however, I believe teaching is about building your students' confidence in their unique skill sets.
