About Lauren
I have been an elementary school literacy teacher for two years. Even before I taught in a classroom, I was tutoring at a center for children with dyslexia for multiple years. I have experience with many different approaches to help struggling readers (Lindamood-Bell, Orton-Gillingham, and Max Scholars) and I have come away with an expertise that draws from the strengths of each individual program to provide the best possible lesson for my students.

My lessons are highly individualized and will focus on whichever area of reading needs most development. Typical lessons will include a warmup, phonemic awareness, teach a new concept in phonics and/or vocabulary, practice prosody, and include a multi-sensory activity to make learning memorable.
