About Brian

Hello! My name is Brian Cox, and I am an experienced Literacy and Writing Specialist with over 15 years of experience helping students of all ages and backgrounds improve their reading, writing, and literacy skills. I hold a Master's degree in Education and have a strong background in developing customized reading curricula that meet the unique needs of each student, including those with ESL needs and learning disabilities. My teaching approach is rooted in clear, structured, and engaging instruction. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps, using research-based strategies to help students build reading comprehension, writing structure, and critical thinking skills. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and developing confidence in their abilities. I have extensive experience working with a wide range of students, from those needing foundational support in early literacy to those preparing for high school or college-level writing. Whether you're looking to improve your essay writing, strengthen your reading skills, or prepare for standardized tests, I will work closely with you to set goals, monitor progress, and celebrate every success along the way. I am committed to helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed academically and beyond. Let's work together to achieve your learning goals and make reading and writing a powerful tool for your future.
