Lifelong Learning is Fun — Let’s Learn Together! I’m a media executive with over 20 years of hands-on experience in broadcasting, digital media, and content strategy — plus 20 years of teaching.

Simply put – John Kirby is one of the best teachers, mentors, leaders, human, and most importantly --- friend.. that I have in my life. I would not be here.. a main sports anchor in a major market.. without his guidance. A lot of tough and real conversations that sometimes I didn’t always like or want to hear – but there are few people in my life whose words I value more. He’s the BEST TEACHER I’ve ever had. Thought his many years in and out of the business, Mr. Kirby’s one constant is helping others. He has changed MANY lives (including myself) for the better. We are all better at our jobs and better people because of him.

Listen to him.
Learn from him.. and YOU work hard – and I promise YOU will be successful in whatever job you get and in life.

I can't recommend Mr. Kirby enough! He has a very wide range of skills - and has helped me for more than a decade! He is not a "one size fits all" tutor - he adapts every session with his students. Customized and personalized, you always come away having learned more than you expected. He is BY FAR my favorite teacher and tutor and I would recommend him to anyone!

I have known Mr. Kirby since the summer of 2022. After a lengthy break, I returned to college to pursue my degree. My writing skills were a bit rusty; I needed help and guidance. Mr. Kirby was my first and best tutor. He was patient, kind, and thorough. He encouraged and challenged my writing skills. During the time I have known Mr. Kirby, my writing skills have grown immensely. I recommend his teaching and tutoring services to anyone who wants to excel and increase their knowledge.

I am pleased to provide this reference for my esteemed colleague and friend, John Kirby. For five years, we taught at Eastern New Mexico University, where, though we worked in different academic areas, we shared many responsibilities and had the privilege of mentoring many of the same students.

John is an exceptionally talented and experienced academic and professional, whose dedication to student success is unwavering. His depth of knowledge, commitment to excellence, and ability to engage students in meaningful learning experiences set him apart. He not only imparts subject matter expertise but also fosters an environment where students feel seen, challenged, and inspired.

Beyond the classroom, John’s contributions to the university community were invaluable. His willingness to collaborate, mentor, and support both students and colleagues demonstrates his commitment to higher education. His ability to promote student excellence, both academically and professionally, is truly unparalleled.

I wholeheartedly recommend John for any academic or professional opportunity he pursues. He will undoubtedly bring the same dedication, passion, and excellence that have made him such an asset to Eastern New Mexico University.
