About Ryan

I’m a 30-year-old guitarist with a grade 8 guitar qualification who has been playing and recording music since my teenage years.

Tutoring has always been something I find immensely rewarding, ever since I worked as a subject tutor during university. For the last few years, I've combined that with my my longest-held passion, the guitar. Can't wait to share it with you!

About the lesson

With around 18 years of experience and a Grade 8 in guitar, I offer fun, engaging lessons tailored to your style, whether you're into rock, pop, indie, or metal.

Together, we'll cover everything from chords and scales to solo techniques; depending on what music you want to play. Of course I can teach you all your favourites, but I'll also introduce music theory in a way that's easy to grasp, so you can apply it during your own practice and become a more confident, independent guitarist.

Lessons are flexible, lasting between 1 and 2 hours, and done at my fully equipped recording studio in Fitzroy North.

I look forward to seeing you headline Glastonbury in 10 years!

Learning from Ryan is just awesome. He's a super nice dude and really understands what I'm struggling with and how to fix it. I'm an intermediate player and there's still loads for me to learn from him. Highly recommend!
