About Ward
As a dedicated guitar tutor with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music, I strive to make learning guitar an enjoyable, creative, and confidence-building journey for every student. I begin by teaching essential techniques such as proper posture, finger placement, chord transitions, strumming patterns, rhythm, and tone control, gradually progressing to improvisation, composition, and expressive playing. I integrate music theory into lessons naturally, using songs and exercises that make concepts clear and applicable. Each session is tailored to the student’s learning style, pace, and goals, creating a supportive environment where curiosity and creativity thrive. I emphasise not only technical skill but also musical expression, ear training, and performance confidence. Students learn to approach challenges with patience and perseverance, building discipline alongside artistic freedom. I cover a wide range of genres, from classical and jazz to rock, pop, and blues, allowing students to explore their musical interests. My lessons combine structure with fun, keeping motivation high while ensuring steady progress.
