About Aaron
Aaron Bissoondial is a 20 year old guitarist from Wayne, New Jersey who fell in love with Blues music at a young age. He was the 3rd place winner in the Blues category of the 2019 International Wilson Guitar Competition and Festival in Milwaukee, WI. Other awards of Aaron’s include Outstanding Soloist awards at both the West Milford Jazz Festival and the Livingston Jazz Festivals. Aaron was privileged to have attended the Manhattan School of Music Precollege and currently attends Frost School of Music at the University of Miami on a Presidential Scholarship. His love for gospel and blues styles featuring the use of bottleneck slide guitar combined with a passion for the Jazz tradition creates a unique sound. While he holds the Blues in the highest regard and believes it is the most honest music there is, Aaron also finds great inspiration in folk-songwriting of the 1960s as well as the sonic possibilities explored in 90s alternative rock, like Pixies and Pavement. Aaron’s current projects include tracking for whoever needs it, and writing and recording with his band, Damn Janis.
-taken guitar instruction from some of the top rock, blues, pop, and jazz musicians in the world, including John Hart, Dave Stryker, Peter Bernstein, and Vic Juris
-placed 3rd in the International Sharon Lynne Wilson guitar competition Rock/Blues Category
-From 2016-2018, I was in the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division.
-In 2018, I was accepted to the University of Miami Frost School of Music with a Presidential Scholarship.
