I went in as an intermediate player seeking to increase my knowledge of bass theory and techniques. Tempee gave excellent instruction and insight, and I always left my lesson motivated and eager to practice what I learned. I especially enjoyed our discussions of various music genres and artists.

Tempee is an exceptionally talented musician. My teenage son has been having lessons with him for the last several years. As a result, his skill level has greatly improved. Tempee is patient, kind and my son looks forward to seeing him each week. Highly recommended!

He is laid back and will listen carefully to what your goals are, whether you want to learn certain songs or you want to learn some music theory or something else and he will adopt the lessons accordingly. Not only does Tempee have a very warm and non-intimidating personality (which makes the lesson environment very comfortable), his musical knowledge is deep and broad. Tempee stresses the layering of chords, arpeggios, and scales in a way that makes you feel like you are not getting bogged down in that scary term 'music theory' and instead you're having fun building your skills. Yet - before you know it - you learned some important concepts about music theory.

My skills as a guitarist definitely increased since taking lessons from Tempee. I also enjoy the fact that Tempee can demonstrate techniques from any great guitarist you can mention (from Django to Hendrix to Wes Montgomery to BB King to Keith Richards to Carlos Santana...).

Tempee’s virtual set-up enabled me to more closely focus on technique specifics. Further, Tempee is an extraordinary teacher. He is patient, clear, creative, and a master story teller.
As a 53 year old man, I expected progress to come at a snail’s pace. In truth, I quickly let go of my initial needs for progress and began embracing the musical journey.
I could not more enthusiastically recommend Tempee.

Mind blowing! He is so innovative and has such amazingly broad experience. I was skeptical about doing lessons online but his set up, (different cameras pointing to different important views, integration with online videos and teaching tools all c lear and easy to see at just the right times,) was literally better than in person lessons. I am armed with a HUGE cadre of tools and references, approaches and understanding. Now I just need time to sift through it all!

I have been taking lessons with Tempee for a while. He’s really easy to work with. His knowledge of music theory and all things guitar has been extremely helpful in adopting new techniques and styles. Finding the Connection:
Our son Trent, started paying the guitar his sophomore year of high school. My Husband and I immediately notice that he had a skill and passion for music. I went to the local music store to get information on lessons but Trent refused to give it a try. Then one day my father had the opportunity to listen to Trent play at a family party, and from that day it was his mission to find the right guitar instructor for Trent. That year for Christmas my father gave Trent 4 guitar lesson with Tempee. I will never forget the first lesson both Trent and I were a little nervous, but my Dad had several conversations with Tempee and believed he was the perfect instructor.
Tempee and Trent connected on the first lesson and we returned weekly till he graduated from Highschool. Trent was always ready for a lesson with Tempee, the lessons provided development skills, music theory and of course rock n’ roll.
Trent is now attending Berklee College of Music and Boston – Thank you Tempee, you provided Trent with support and encouragement to pursue his true passion.

I was a little apprehensive about starting bass lessons at first, but Tempee’s friendly, laid-back style quickly put me at ease and the experience ranks as one of the most rewarding and enjoyable things I’ve done in my life. I learned more in just a few 30 minute sessions with Tempee than I did in a year of “teaching myself” with books, youtube videos, etc. He kept the pace comfortable and introduced new concepts and terms at a steady pace that was never overwhelming. Every lesson gave me a sense of progress and accomplishment. Besides learning to play bass, I gained an understanding of music theory that really tied everything together and helped make the notes and chord progressions click. Tempee is a great teacher. I highly recommend trying lessons with him if you’re learning bass or guitar.
