About AHMED SAYYAM
I am a professional studio musician. I made guitar lessons for my students of all age groups and my music theory is good. I try my best to transfer the maximum knowledge that I have to my students and make sure that they have learned correctly.
I enjoy interacting with new people and get to know them better. Identify their skills and see what are the margins to improve them. This is always a two-way learning process, so I learn a lot of new skills myself.
During 1996-98 when I was a student myself I had to finance my studies. I started teaching Guitars at home and I started getting students who paid me for the lessons and I paid for my studies accordingly.
I took my Guitar theory classes from professional musicians in Pakistan. I follow the same process and transfer the same knowledge to my students. I wrote a book for guitar lessons back in the year 1998 and I teach lessons from that book.

About the lesson

During the initial lessons, I make sure that the student gets to know more about the Guitar and its structure. I guide them to learn to tune the instrument and bring them to beginning theory lessons and exercises.
I would prefer working with aged 12-35 and even sometimes more but depending on the interest of the student. If they value the time and effort that I am giving them to make them learn this skill, I enjoy doing it myself else this is a tough job.
I would advise that a student must see that the teacher understands his needs and look into how he is going to make him learn the instrument. Respect should be maintained at both ends which is a high priority.
Due to pandemics, it is not preferred to do face-to-face classes. Skype and Zoom have made it really easy for us to interact with the students, which made me fond of online classes.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The student must be open enough to share his needs with the teacher. If a student doesn't understand any lesson, he must inform the teacher immediately before they move ahead with a new lesson.

What I liked about the guitar lesso was the way questions were asked to understand my needs of what I want to learn and how to get me to that point. It was important for the teacher to understand where I stand in playing guitar and how I can get to the next level. All while making it fun to learn new songs on the way.

My charges vary as per hour.
$15 for a half-hour session
$30 for a one-hour session
If the child requires more attention then I would charge $45 per session.
Sessions are conducted twice a week Online through Skype or Zoom.
