About Sebastian

I have been teaching since 2012.

About the lesson

With each new students I start working on their ears. My approach to teaching is "hear what you play, and play what you hear." So each student starts by learning nursery rhymes and other easy songs all by ear. Once they have a hang of playing from what they listen to I start to introduce reading and music literature.

My favorite students to work with are those who have always dreamt of playing an instrument but because of lack of time, lack of knowledge, or lack of structure, have never reached their goals or even gotten started. I have enjoyed teaching dozens of students how to overcome any hurdles in their way and create a healthy practice habit to have consistant progress and enjoyement in their music.

You will find a lot of music teachers for almost every instrument. My advice is one that my own teachers and mentors have told me: find a mentor/teacher who knows how to listen. It takes much more than knowing the right notes and rhythms to play music with emotion and passion. It takes a good discerning ear to make the music come alive.

I’ve been taking acoustic guitar lessons for about 6 months with Sebastian. He is an excellent guitar teacher. His lessons are filled with musical expertise, structure, encouragement, and are very engaging. He is professional and kind. He gets to know your learning styles and what methods of instruction you will learn best from. I am several hours away from his location but am able to take lessons virtually which is a huge plus being a busy mom. I’m learning so much every week! Taking lessons with Sebastian was the best decision I made for learning to play guitar.

Details

I charge a flat monthly tuition to join my studio. Students can sign up for weekly lessons and also get access to all the events and resources available in my studio (i.e. video lessons, group lessons, recitals, etc.)

Tuition for 45 minute lessons is $230 per month, and for 60 minute lessons it is $300 per month.

Your tuition reserves your weekly lesson spot and covers all the events and resources offered in my studio (video lessons, group lessons, special workshops, recitals, etc.)
