About Rick
I am a 22 year old Music Composition student with a passion for sharing my knowledge of music theory and guitar.
I have been playing guitar for over 10 years and teaching in Brooklyn for three years.
I like to focus on the joy of learning music and try to show my students how fun playing the guitar and writing music can be.
in highschool I taught friends just for fun and one of my friends parents became my first real student.
We would meet once a week and I would teach him pink floyd songs.
I went to a performing arts highschooo that focused on jazz. That is where I learned to improvise, sight read and areange parts.
Now I study at the conservatory of music at Brooklyn college. Where I took private classical guitar lessons, private composition lessons and years of theory, sight singing, arranging, and orchestration.

About the lesson

First we get the basics down, like how to hold a guitar, how and where to put your fingers, how to get clear notes.
Then we get to know the notes worh the use of scales and chords. Then we go over how to practice efficiantly.
Then we start choosing simple songs to learn and practice until we become more comfortable with the guitar.
Then we can focus on how to write music, improvise, sight read, play with a group, and work on more advanced techniques.
