About Amy
My teaching style is centered around five core principles Creativity, Communication, Compassion, Problem-Solving, and Adaptability. These elements shape every lesson and foster a dynamic learning environment for my guitar students.
I encourage students to explore their musical ideas, blending various genres and techniques to create a personal sound. By promoting improvisation and composition, I help students find their unique voice. Clear and open dialogue is key to my teaching approach; I actively listen to my students' needs and goals, ensuring that each lesson is tailored to their preferences and challenges.
I understand that every student learns at their own pace, so I create a supportive atmosphere where students feel comfortable expressing their struggles and successes, fostering a growth mindset. Together, we tackle musical challenges by breaking them down into manageable steps. This approach builds confidence and resilience, enabling students to overcome obstacles.
Additionally, I teach relevant subjects such as music theory and composition, integrating them into guitar lessons. This holistic approach enhances students' understanding and appreciation of music, equipping them with the skills to excel both on and off the instrument.
