About Gus

I am a 30 year old performer, music researcher and composer, teaching classical music of all periods as well as specialising in 16th and 17th century music. I play the guitar, lute, viol and theorbo, performing regularly as a soloist and with various ensembles. I was educated at the Royal College of Music, and spent several years teaching all ages and abilities with the Royal College of Music teaching service.

About the lesson

If you would like to improve your classical guitar (or lute) playing, or if you are a complete beginner and would like to start learning, I can teach you both the basics and also guide you through more advanced pieces, helping you to develop a practice routine that will enable you to progress and make the most of your potential. We can include as much theory as you would like, and I can help you understand the sometimes daunting aspects of music theory, which are often over-complicated in books and on the internet!

I've known Augustin for a number of years as a performer teacher and friend. He has a great knowledge of music, specialising in the performance of repertoire from the 16th century. But has a passion for every genre of music that he loves to pass on to students and audiences.
