About Guitar
I first started performing when I was 13 singing in a grunge band. Back then I loved metal music more than anything but when I was 16, I was introduced to 'The Blues' through Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Their music just blew my mind! I got deeply into jazz music in my late teens and have been studying this for years at schools in both Europe and the U.S. I received my Bachelor of Jazz Performance from Cornish College of The Arts (Seattle) and my Masters in guitar performance from the Royal Academy of Music (Denmark). I began teaching at a very young age and have more than 15 years of experience teaching a variety of musical subjects such as theory, ear-training, ensemble, guitar, bass and ukulele. I love everything about music and have a passion for helping others achieve their musical goals. I am patient, compassionate, positive and always willing to meet people at their level and ability. Guitar Lessons by Alex. My teaching approach depends on the student and the way they absorb information. We create a lesson plan and practice schedule together reflecting their needs/interests to get the best and fastest results. It is always my recommendation to learn formal musicianship skills like ear training, rhythm, sight reading etc. however, some just want to focus on learning their favorite songs. Regardless, I am here to help (: My students are always welcome to contact me outside of class with questions and I encourage them to do a video diary of their progress to keep them committed and engaged. My lessons are for EVERYONE who wishes to learn, and my motto is #peacethroughmusic
