About Riya
I am an Economics tutor with 11 years of teaching experience, guiding students of all levels from school to university. Over the years, I have successfully taught around 300 students, helping them excel in exams, assignments, and understanding complex economic concepts.
My teaching philosophy focuses on clarity, engagement, and practical learning. I use real-life examples and case studies to make topics like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and public finance relatable and easy to understand. I encourage students to think critically, ask questions, and explore multiple ways to solve economic problems.
Creativity and motivation are at the core of my sessions. I design lessons to be interactive and thought-provoking, helping students not only learn theory but also apply it in practical situations. I emphasise integrity and careful analysis, guiding students to interpret data and evaluate arguments independently.
I take pride in mentoring students to build confidence and analytical skills, preparing them for exams, research projects, and future careers. Seeing my students succeed and develop a deeper understanding of Economics is the most rewarding part of my work.

My teaching approach in Economics is focused on clarity, engagement, and practical understanding. I cover a wide range of topics including microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, international trade, public finance, and development economics. I use real-life examples and case studies to make concepts relatable and to help students see how economic principles operate in the world around them.
I encourage creativity in problem-solving, showing students multiple ways to approach complex economic questions. My lessons are interactive, motivating students to ask questions, participate in discussions, and think critically. I emphasise integrity and transparency in analysis, guiding students to evaluate data and arguments carefully and independently.
Assignments and exam preparation are tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on understanding rather than rote memorisation. I aim to make difficult topics like econometric modelling, fiscal policy, and market dynamics understandable through step-by-step explanations and practical illustrations.
I support students in developing their analytical skills, improving their ability to interpret graphs, statistics, and economic reports. By connecting theory to real-world situations, I help them gain confidence in applying knowledge in exams, research projects, and future careers. My goal is to foster curiosity, encourage independent thinking, and help each student achieve academic success while enjoying the study of Economics.
