About Keyla
I'm a rising junior in college studying biochemistry while also having a focus on the humanities. I have been a student advisor and served as a mentor to first-year college students for 2 years. I strive to be a patient, encouraging, and adaptable tutor who is passionate about helping students build confidence in their learning. My approach as a tutor is centered around creating an encouraging, interactive, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing at their own pace. Teaching Method and Techniques:

I also incorporate active recall methods, such as practice questions, reviewing concepts from memory, and having students explain ideas back to me. These techniques help strengthen understanding and improve long-term retention of material.
During tutoring sessions, I use encouragement and affirmations to help students build confidence in their abilities. I know that many students can feel overwhelmed or discouraged when learning difficult material, so I strive to create a positive environment where mistakes are viewed as part of the learning process.

A typical lesson begins with reviewing previous material and identifying any areas of confusion. From there, I introduce or review concepts through interactive explanations and guided examples. I end sessions with a recap of key concepts and personalized suggestions for continued improvement.
