About Jack

I'm Jack, a first-year BSc Economics student at the LSE. I believe the satisfaction from finally understanding something you struggled with is unrivalled. My purpose as a tutor is to accelerate this process, making you achieve the top grades you need!

I completed my A-Levels in 2024, achieving A*A*A*A in Mathematics, Geography, Economics and Further Mathematics, as well as seven grade 9s at GCSE level. I’m excited to teach because I thoroughly enjoy partaking in the process of a student developing their grades and confidence. Also, I am extremely patient, which I believe is a crucial skill when teaching, as it allows students to develop their problem solving skills and confidently break down difficult questions. In my own studies, I follow a highly structured and rigorous approach, which I intend to relay to my students.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is to build a safe space for each and every student to ask questions, in order to create a judgement-free environment. I also aim to develop problem solving, enabling students to understand the required methods, rather than simple memorisation. The best way to master skill is to practise it continuously, which I encourage in my sessions, meaning students use their time efficiently. This is a powerful way to minimise any mistakes under pressure.

I will focus on building a solid foundation of conceptual understanding, followed by carefully assisting students with practice questions in each session. This method ensures that any gaps in understanding are filled prior to attempting questions, which makes each session as effective as possible.

I have helped numerous peers, alongside their siblings, with their GCSE and A-Level exams, most notably assisting one peer to a grade 9 in GCSE Maths.

My lessons will primarily be catered towards GCSE and A-Level Maths and Economics students, but I am always willing to lend a hand outside of these areas. No matter what your goal is, I am here to help!
