About the lesson

My Jolly Phonics classes are designed to turn early learners into confident, independent readers and writers through a fun, multi-sensory approach.

Teaching Techniques & Methods: I use the proven synthetic phonics methodology, teaching the 42 core letter sounds, sound actions, and visual cues. Students learn step-by-step techniques for blending sounds to read words effortlessly and segmenting sounds to spell accurately.

Usual Class Structure (40 Minutes):

Sound Review & Warm-Up (5–7 mins): Quick flashcard drills and playful actions to review previously learned sounds.

New Sound & Action Intro (10–12 mins): Interactive introduction of new letter sounds using stories, visual aids, and multi-sensory actions.

Blending & Reading Practice (15 mins): Live practice blending sounds into whole words and identifying tricky, non-phonetic words through fun reading games.

Wrap-Up & Parent Check-in (5 mins): Recap of daily progress, quick Q&A, and light home reading activities.
