About Josh
I'm a Marine Science and Biology graduate from the University of Auckland, currently studying a PgDip in Aquaculture!
All throughout high school I enjoyed biology and science subjects, with a particular passion for marine biology with a love for all things in nature. This was when I began tutoring other students within high school and my younger brother. I love helping other people understand concepts they struggle with and succeed academically, especially if I felt the same way.
Outside of academics, I play football, go diving, hiking and am into photography.

My lessons are typically an hour long and are tailored to how students learn best. I emphasize active recall and full understanding of the topic — a proven method for improving memory and understanding. For Biology, we’ll first lay out all that we know about a topic before creating and reviewing flashcards to help ingrain key concepts.
Challenging topics will be explained using diagrams, videos, and step-by-step explanations. I have experience in NCEA Level 1-3 Biology and can help explain concepts I struggled with myself. Once we've done all that, we can go through practice questions and past papers, where you can apply what you've learned!
