About Emily
I have been teaching English since 2014 to students in secondary schools, 1:1 and online; as a result, I have taught several different exam boards such as AQA and Edexcel to a range of students with different needs and expectations.
I can teach all aspects of the AQA and Edexcel English GCSE exam boards and comprehension, spelling punctuation and grammar and creative writing to SATs students and students taking entrance exams. I am also experienced in teaching day-to-day English skills to KS3 students such as character and structure analysis, literary techniques, and transactional and fiction writing.

I believe that learning is much harder when it feels boring! Because of this I prefer to use a range of activities to engage students. A typical lesson will include a key term starter, informational video clip, discussion and comprehension activities. Once I have gauged a student's level of confidence we will start regular exam practise.
