About Ara

I've had a strong command of English since early childhood, with a habit of reading classic literature and modern fiction well before it was introduced in school.

By late primary, I was routinely imitating epigrammatic writers like O Henry, Guy de Maupassant, and Mark Twain in my prose assignments. Soon after, I began reading unabridged classics by Charles Dickens and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and noticing differences in their narrative styles. (Things slowed briefly in my early teens when I read Dan Brown, lol).

Before senior school, I'd noticed that many English grammar 'rules' were applied rigidly from Latin, and that daily speech could work very differently if we didn't follow them. This made my teachers very annoyed with me, and so they often threw me out of class because I wouldn't listen to them; but it also helped me use English as a living, expressive tool — something I later learned was called the 'poetic license'. (And no, it is not limited to poems).

By age 15, I'd begun working professionally. I started as a writer for a European freight company — often writing B2B emails, demanding corrections under threat of legal action. And by the time I got to college, I was a technical writer for cloud technology and software. Creatively, I'd also written modern screenplays, pantomimes, and short stories for private indie productions.

Soon after, I switched to being a ghostwriter when I saw how much more it paid. Some of my work includes:

- dialogue for financial YouTube channels.
- high-visibility letters credited to tech-CEOs.
- global policy for modern ride-sharing BPOs
- jingles for global companies.
- hip hop songs for both male and female rappers (once having written a quadruple entendre).

Throughout my life, I've tried to encourage people to stop putting English on a pedestal, and to simply engage with the language. More than once, I've gifted an Enid Blyton book to young bellboys in resorts when they confessed their then-idle interest in the language.

I've often met a lot of people insecure about how they sound; often attaching their self-worth to either their accent or their unrealistic dreams. And I'd always tell them, "Just speak your best! People who look down at you for having broken English are never going to matter in the long run!"

My goal here on SuperProfs is to help a select few people unlock their own ability to express themselves; not for external praise or validation or test-taking, but to actually converse with people fruitfully, build new relationships with them, and discover how it can elevate their self-expression globally.

With me, you can expect a professional, honest, and warm guidance that will challenge you to engage with English like you may never have before, all while becoming more comfortable with yourself and the people around you.

I'm always interested in learning and teaching languages. I'm currently building a Polish learning app for European professionals with a small, native-iOS company.

About the lesson

I'll train you to sound natural, and to be comfortable in your own skin. We can either begin from as basic a point as you'd like, or jump straight into etiquette and advanced expressions like the use of literary devices in daily speech, or navigating relevant modern slang from pop culture.

Depending on your goals, we'll also practice writing fiction, poetry, and journaling — all to develop you into a fuller, more rounded human being; one who can gainfully express themselves in English. We will practice how to debate, convince, empathize, and more.

I'll design a curriculum with you, specific to your goals and timeline, and also give you the tools, guidance, and support to rely on yourself as you continue your journey with English.

I'll also address your psychology and presumptions about this language, and help you uncover any insecurities you may be feeling (we'll also use psycho-cybernetics to improve your ability to learn).

At the end of the day, English is just another language - a tool that is meant to serve you. Let's remove all fear of either it or its grammar, and focus on what matters — connecting with other people, building a richer worldview, and practicing true self-expression!
