About the lesson

1. Understand the Problem
Before jumping straight into finding an answer, pause and ask yourself:
What am I being asked to find or solve?
What information do I already have?
Is there any extra information I need?
2. Devise a Plan
Choose a strategy that fits the situation. Some great strategies include:
Breaking it down: Divide a big problem into smaller, manageable pieces.
Working backward: Start from the desired outcome and trace the steps back.
Mapping it out: Draw a diagram, list, or flowchart to visualize your thoughts.
3. Carry Out the Plan
Put your strategy into action. Take your time and execute each step carefully. If a step doesn't work, don't worry—adjust your strategy and try a different angle!
4. Review & Reflect
Once you think you have the answer, double-check your work:
Does this answer make sense?
Did I answer every part of the question?
What did I learn from this process that can help me next time?
