About Helen
I am a 2018 graduate of The Glasgow School of Art and a practising Glasgow based artist who has exhibited widely in solo and group shows, including the national galleries, across the UK since 2014.
I am an accomplished and skilled oil painter and have over a decade expertise in oils, including technique, history and materials.
In 2019 I was chosen as part of the BP Portrait award and exhibited my oil painting in The National Portrait Gallery London and Edinburgh. After this I worked as a contemporary portrait painter taking commissions and a practicing artist exhibition in galleries and being featured in publications.
I have also worked as Creative Coordinator of an art space and as a graphic designer and have experience of illustration for literature also.

I am an open minded and empathetic tutor and will refine and tailor lessons to your needs and the areas you wish to work on. There are no wrong answers and I will be there to guide you in whatever form you wish.
I have high technical skill and experience with oil, acrylic, gouache painting and pencil based drawing.
I have extremely high observational and portraiture skills which I can share. I am available to teach method and technique in painting and can coach painting and drawing.

BA Honours Degree in Fine Art – Painting and Printmaking
A level and GCSE qualifications in Art, English, Maths and science – all at A* level
