About Irena

Yoga for me is the integration of body, mind and heart. The meeting of a free body, a clear mind and an open heart. Unknowingly observe the next next pose while practicing on the mat. I compare my yoga classes to a lifecycle. A standing curve that develops slowly, gets stronger, and slows down over time.

I added yoga to my meditation and active sports routine that I started doing in high school. My paths crossed with Zeynep Aksoy during my 200 hour teacher training. In addition to my training as a teacher, he helped me to follow a conscious path in his life. As a result of the training, I began to implement the 8 week stress reduction yoga and meditation program. After the internship and assistantship program at Advayta Bomonti, I had the opportunity to work with Fırat Tosun for 30 hours and with Derya Çakmak for 30 hours. I took workshops on simplicity and flow in language.

About the lesson

Focusing on the process rather than the outcome, which is valuable with mindful practice. The process of getting into that pose and enjoying that process rather than the way you do the pose. This is actually the case in real life, when you notice places where you push yourself or show compassion along the flow. Your attitude to yourself on the mat will go beyond the mat and be included in your daily life. Calming breathing with body awareness stimulates the vagus nerve and activates the parasympathetic nervous system. It appears as a restful arousal response of the nervous system rather than a combat flight response.
