About Farheen
I have recently graduated with a Biomedical Science with Global Health Honours Degree at St George’s University of London. I have also received an offer to study Medicine at the University of Sunderland later this year.
After attending university I worked as a Science I-teacher in a secondary school, working with students between the ages of 12 and 16, and from various different sets. My teaching experience at GCSE combined with myself achieving 10A*-A’s at GCSE have shown me how every student benefits from a slightly different study plan designed to their specific needs and aimed at areas for them to show improvement, this method in my experience has shown to provide success to students in not only how they approach questions but also their confidence in their abilities.

My lessons are aimed to construct a strong understanding of concepts utilising a range of different resources ranging from textbooks to videos, challenge each student with on the spot one to one questioning, active recall and exam questions. This method ensures that a student’s confidence within themselves and their academia is enhanced each lesson, which in turn puts them in a better position to sit formal exams. I like to get the student to explain each topic taught at intervals like a story to strengthen their memory, testing like this allows for easier application of knowledge when approaching exam questions.
