About Katie
Hello! I’m a fully qualified Primary School Teacher with 9 years of teaching experience across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Throughout my teaching career, I have developed a real passion for helping children build confidence, develop a love of learning and reach their full potential.
Alongside classroom teaching, I have held leadership roles as an Early Years Lead and Early Reading and Phonics Lead. These roles have given me extensive experience in curriculum development, assessing children’s progress and identifying the most effective ways to support individual learning needs.
I have particular expertise in phonics, early reading, English and primary maths, as well as experience supporting children with a wide range of abilities and special educational needs. I have also completed a National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in Leading Teaching, further developing my knowledge of effective teaching and learning.
As a teacher, I pride myself on being patient, approachable, creative and enthusiastic. I understand that every child learns differently and believe that building positive relationships is key to helping children feel confident and successful.
My favourite part of teaching is seeing that moment when something finally clicks for a child, particularly when they achieve something they previously found difficult.
I aim to bring the same warmth, creativity and encouragement from my classroom into every tutoring session, helping children feel proud of their achievements and excited about learning.
As a mum of two young children myself, I understand just how important it is for children to feel happy, confident and supported as they learn. I appreciate that every child develops at their own pace and that finding the right support can make such a difference. I aim to provide the same patience, encouragement and nurturing approach that I would want for my own children.

My lessons are fun, engaging and carefully tailored to each child’s individual needs, abilities and interests. I believe children learn best when they feel happy, confident and supported, so I create a positive and encouraging environment where every child can thrive.
I specialise in phonics, early reading, English and primary maths, offering personalised support for children from EYFS through to Key Stage 2.
Each session is planned around your child’s starting points and learning goals, combining practical activities, interactive games, visual resources and structured teaching to make learning enjoyable and effective.
Whether your child needs help closing gaps in their learning, building confidence, preparing for school or extending their abilities, I adapt my teaching approach to ensure they feel challenged, supported and successful.
I also value communication with parents and am always happy to share progress, celebrate achievements and suggest simple ways to support learning at home.
My ultimate aim is to help children develop confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning!
