About Tobias
I am an English teacher working at a secondary school in the Birmingham area. I have been in mainstream school teaching for the past 4 years and been involved in education for the past 10 years. I have taught both AQA and Eduqas and have focused mainly on teaching Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Macbeth and An Inspector Calls for AQA and A Christmas Carol, Much Ado About Nothing and An Inspector Calls for Eduqas. I have also supported students with their creative writing for both English Language papers, working on structure, impact and how to craft an engaging piece of writing in a limited time frame. I have also taught in Shanghai, China for 6 months as a TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) and so can support those that are learning English or have only recently learnt English.

We will start by identifying areas of improvement that you need to work on to maximise your grades and open as many possibilities post GCSEs. With this foundation, we will then work on those areas with 1-1 work on essay structure, effective introductions and question structure for the English Language papers. We will look at specific mark schemes so you understand exactly what is being asked of you in each question and how best to attack each question in your exams.
