About Destiny
I have been in education for 8 years and now stay at home with my two children. I have taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade through those years. My family spends as much time as possible outdoors. The Blue Ridge Mountains are close to us and we spend time hiking, swimming, and camping there whenever we can!

As a previous classroom teacher for the last 8 years I have fine tuned my tutoring experience. As a now stay at home homeschool mom, I still have the desire to teach students reading, math, science, history, or writing. I have specific experience in elementary education but am proficient in middle school content as well.
My teaching model is that I show a student how to complete a skill, we then do it together, and then they have independent practice. This is the best way for students to get proficient and master skills! I strive to make my lessons engaging and full. They have to be to keep students engaged especially in a virtual setting.
