About Lauren

In 2015, I earned a distinction-grade diploma in art & design at Edinburgh College. I appeared as a contestant on Sky Arts' Portrait Artist of the Year 2014 and have had a self-portrait oil painting exhibited in the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition 2021. I tutor 4-14-year-olds in English and maths and mentor high-school students through an educational charity, so have lots of experience delivering fun and engaging sessions for young people, explaining concepts and methods, and creating a relaxed learning environment. In addition, I hold a 1st-class Bachelor's degree in English studies and distinction-grade Master's in creative writing from the University of Stirling.

About the lesson

All ages adult courses and separate courses designed for budding young artists All abilities regardless of experience, learn your own way, at your own pace All ambitions develop technical skills or simply enjoy the experience of being creative Guidance and encouragement are the most vital ingredients for the progression of any creative project. That's why my sessions balance demonstrations with discussion and experimentation. With me, you'll learn about the creative process, how to reflect on your own work, professional techniques to take your abilities to the next level, and lots more. I provide courses on topics such as portraiture, illustration and drawing skills, and also offer tailored classes, where I design our sessions around your goals -- perfect for portfolio development or completing your dream project.
