About Kelvir

I am a recent University of Cambridge Natural Sciences graduate. I specialised in Biochemistry and graduated with a BA and MSci. At A-Level I achieved 4A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics and was awarded student of the year at my college for academic excellence. In my GCSE’s I achieved A*'s in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Further Maths. I am currently tutoring part time in person at a local tutoring company where I tutor GCSE and A-Level students in Maths, Chemistry and Physics. I am excited to impart my experience and knowledge I have gained during my time in academia onto the next generation and I look forward to working with students.

About the lesson

An initial free lesson would be around 30 mins long where I would discuss with the student what their aims are and what they would like from me as a tutor. Some students want teaching in certain subject areas before they have gone over it in class. Some students want help with exam prep. Every student's needs are different and the first initial free 30 minutes is about me getting to know the student better and devising an approach with the student on how best to achieve their goals. Depending on the needs of the student the structure of a lesson can vary. A physics lesson is 1 hour long and would begin with me testing my student's understanding of key concepts and perhaps walking through the theory and proofs of key rules or laws for a certain topic. We would then move onto working through past exam questions together and the last 10 minutes I would test my student's understanding with a difficult exam question and asking how they would approach the topic. The best way to get a feel for my tutoring style would be for me to discuss it with you over video chat so if you are interested please do not hesitate to drop me a message and I can arrange a 30 minutes session where I can better discuss my strategy and approach and we can come up with a plan tailored to your needs.
