About Nilesh

I am a PhD researcher in Physics at IIT Delhi, with a strong academic background in Physics and a passion for teaching. My research focuses on quantum optics, quantum communication and emerging quantum technologies, allowing me to bring both academic depth and real-world scientific context into my teaching.

I believe that a good teacher should do more than explain a topic — they should help students become confident, curious and independent learners. My teaching focuses on building strong fundamentals, developing problem-solving skills, and making difficult concepts easier to understand through clear explanations and practical examples.

I am patient, approachable and happy to adapt my teaching style to each student's individual pace and level. Whether a student needs help understanding the basics, preparing for examinations, or simply wants to explore Physics and Mathematics more deeply, I aim to create a comfortable environment where they can ask questions and learn without hesitation.

As an active researcher, I also enjoy showing students how the Physics they learn in textbooks connects to fascinating areas such as lasers, quantum mechanics, photonics and quantum computing.

My goal is simple: to make students understand what they are learning, develop confidence in solving problems, and hopefully discover the same curiosity about science that motivates me every day.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is based on understanding concepts deeply rather than memorizing formulas. As a PhD researcher in Physics at IIT Delhi, I try to make Physics and Mathematics intuitive, visual, and connected to real-world phenomena.

#Teaching Techniques & Methods

I first identify the student's current level and understand where they are facing difficulty. I then build the concept step by step using:

* Simple explanations and physical intuition
* Diagrams, visualization and practical examples
* Step-by-step mathematical derivations
* Numerical and problem-solving practice
* Questions that encourage independent thinking
* Real-world applications of Physics
* Regular revision and discussion of previously learned concepts

For Physics in particular, I focus on explaining why a formula works, where it comes from, and when it should be used, rather than simply asking students to memorize it.

# Typical Class Structure

A typical class generally follows this structure:

1. Quick revision of the previous topic
2. Introduction to the new concept and its physical meaning
3. Detailed explanation with examples and visualization
4. Worked problems from basic to challenging levels
5. Student participation through questions and problem solving
6. Summary and key takeaways
7. Practice problems to strengthen understanding

The pace is adjusted according to the student's needs. If a student is struggling with a fundamental concept, I prefer to strengthen that foundation before moving ahead.

# What Makes My Teaching Different

My goal is not simply to help students complete their syllabus. I want them to develop the ability to think like a scientist and solve problems independently.

Being actively involved in Physics research gives me the opportunity to connect classroom concepts with modern areas such as quantum physics, quantum optics, lasers, photonics and quantum technologies whenever appropriate. This can help students see how the concepts they learn today are connected to real scientific research and technology.

I also encourage students to ask questions freely. There is no such thing as a "stupid" question in my class. Curiosity is an important part of learning Physics.
