About Pavanjeet

I am a qualified primary school teacher currently in my fourth year of teaching, with experience teaching across Key Stage 2 and a particular passion for Year 6 and reading.

I became a teacher because I love helping children recognise what they are capable of. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me is seeing a child grow in confidence, especially when they have previously found an area of learning difficult.

Reading is a particular passion of mine because it opens the door to so much of the wider curriculum. I enjoy helping children develop their fluency, comprehension and confidence while encouraging them to find enjoyment in reading too.

I want to offer private tutoring so that I can provide children with more individualised support than is always possible within a busy classroom. Having dedicated one-to-one time allows me to understand exactly where a child needs support, adapt my teaching to them and celebrate their progress along the way.

Above all, I want the children I tutor to leave each session feeling more confident, capable and positive about their learning.

About the lesson

As a qualified primary school teacher with four years of classroom experience, I understand that every child learns differently. My approach to tutoring is supportive, encouraging and completely tailored to the individual child.

Reading is a particular passion and speciality of mine. I focus on developing not only comprehension and fluency, but also a genuine confidence and enjoyment of reading. I want children to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and recognising their own progress.

I use my experience teaching Year 6 to identify gaps in learning and break skills down into manageable, achievable steps. Sessions are engaging, purposeful and adapted to each child’s needs, whether they need additional support, greater challenge or preparation for their KS2 SATs.

Most importantly, I aim to build a positive relationship with every child I tutor. I believe children make the greatest progress when they feel understood, encouraged and proud of what they can achieve.
