About Kate
I’m Kate, an educator and athletics coach with experience teaching children and university students. I’ve provided one-to-one home tuition and taught Sport and Exercise Science at university level, so I’m comfortable adapting my approach to different ages and learning needs.
I’m patient, organized, adaptable, and encouraging. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and confident about the progress they’re making. Whether we’re working through a school topic or a sport science concept, I’ll explain it clearly, listen to what’s difficult, and tailor each lesson to the student.

I adapt each lesson to the student’s age, goals and way of learning. I start by finding out what they already understand, then explain new ideas clearly, work through examples together and give them a chance to practise independently. I keep lessons encouraging and interactive, and check understanding as we go so I can adjust the pace.
I have experience providing home tuition and teaching Sport and Exercise Science at university level. My background in athletics coaching has also taught me how to break skills down, give useful feedback and build confidence.
I offer support to primary-school pupils and students studying sport, exercise and related subjects. Lessons can be tailored to a particular topic, assignment or learning goal.
