About Chelsea
I am a Speech Pathologist with 5 years experience, currently working in a paediatric private practice. I provide intervention for children with literacy, speech and language difficulties.
I have a passion for building confidence in children and helping them reach their potential. I make sure my sessions are engaging and the child feels a sense of success so they don't get frustrated and hate reading.
I am a huge Harry Potter fan and have a beautiful miniature schnauzer named Teddy; who loves to lie down on the couch with me as I read a good book.

I have a passion for building confidence in children and helping them reach their potential. I make sure my sessions are engaging and the child feels a sense of success so they don't get frustrated and hate reading.
The gold standard interventions for literacy involve a systematic phonics approach. Many children fall through the cracks in Australian public schools because there are still a lot of schools that don't follow this approach yet and are still encouraging children to look at the pictures and guess words, without teaching them the skills to sound out words and explicitly learn a variety of spelling patterns. I am trained in two fantastic programs which are called Sounds-Write and Read3. I can provide you with informal assessments, weekly intervention and resources for home practice.
