About Paulina

I am an astronomer by profession and passion, I have a PhD in astrophysics awarded by the University of Warsaw. For over 10 years I have been using physics, mathematics, computer science, statistics and logic to my everyday scientific work. The love of knowledge discovering does not always go hand in hand with the love of knowledge sharing, which is why I have been tutoring only sporadically for the last 10 years. I taught physics, mathematics at the gymnasium and high school level, and statistics at the undergraduate level.

About the lesson

I believe that effective tutoring is sporadic and full of commitment. If you need to understand a topic, I will explain it, show examples, work out your intuition in understanding it. These are the only tools you'll need to further explore the problem yourself. I will provide you with materials available online or I will prepare them myself if I don't find ones that will suit you. My goal is to make you feel comfortable with a new subject. If it's a topic you hate - we'll tame it together, if it's boring - we'll look for something you might find interesting in it, and if you just want to get over it - I'll show you easy to remember methods of dealing with it once and for all. Classes are online only and last 45 minutes, with the possibility of extension if you have the desire and need to work longer. In class we'll talk - we check how much you already know in a given topic, we look for analogies to understand new concepts, we consolidate these new with examples and practice new acquired skills by doing several exercises. If you wish, you'll get more exercises to do individually.
