About Tatiana
I love biology. It seems nerdy and cliché, but I do truly love it. And that's how you get the grades. Passion. Achieving a grade 9 and A* in Biology was not without effort, but my interest in the subject fuelled my revision and lesson time. But I haven't always loved it - it was my teacher who taught me to love it. I am now a student at the University of Edinburgh studying Neuroscience, having always believed I would go into linguistics or something humanities (although I do still love those subjects so I'm doing elective courses in History and French). That's why I want to teach you, not to shift your whole life trajectory, but to open your mind and realise how interesting science truly is.
I achieved 7 grade 9s at GCSE, including grade 9 in Biology and Physics, and grade 8 in Maths and Chemistry.
I achieved A*AAA + A* in my EPQ at A level, getting an A* in Biology and an A in Maths, Chemistry and English Language
I have formally tutored before, tutoring year 10 (beginning of GCSE) Maths and French. I also helped my friends study during their GCSEs and A-levels, namely in Biology, getting feedback of "you'd be a great teacher!"

I know what it's like, reading pages and pages of textbooks with pages lined with nonsensical jargon, believing biology is simply a different language. Which is why I don't teach from a textbook, but instead use the exam board-specific specification to guide the lessons. With my student, I'll explore the foundational concepts that underpin biology by drawing diagrams and creating story-like narratives that simplify the complexities of biology into bite-sized chunks, which will over time develop into grade 9/A* level of understanding and confidence in the subject.
Lessons would be an hour, maximum 2, depending on what suits the student best and the topic being covered.
Education is of utmost importance to me, but enjoying learning is, I believe, the key to success.
