About Yuriko
Hi! I’m a native Japanese speaker from Japan, currently living in Melbourne as a university student.
In Japan, I’m a university student, so I can also teach modern slang and expressions that are currently popular among young people. I can help you learn how Japanese is actually used in real life, not just from textbooks.
Since I came to Melbourne, I participate in Japanese language exchange events, so I’m used to supporting learners and explaining Japanese in a clear and patient way. Because I naturally speak at a slower pace in both Japanese and English, beginners can feel comfortable and not rushed during lessons.
Lessons are available online or in person in Melbourne. I look forward to helping you enjoy learning Japanese!

I especially enjoy helping beginners and people who want to improve their natural Japanese conversation skills. We can practice speaking in a comfortable and low-pressure environment. We can also talk about Japanese anime, and I’m always happy to recommend shows based on your interests.
I also participate in language exchange events at Japanese language schools, so I’m used to supporting learners and explaining Japanese in a clear and patient way.
