About Meenakshi
Hi! I’m Meenakshi—an artist and art teacher who believes art should feel joyful, curious, and a little magical. My classes with children are usually full of color, imagination, and somehow by the end of it we’ve all learned something new together. Kids warm up to me quickly, and parents often tell me they love how comfortable and confident their children feel while creating.
I begin with what the student likes to paint and incorporate the techniques in that painting. It’s more motivating in my style :) I also conduct workshops for adults, in watercolor and acrylic. I also work as a freelance artist under my brand Ira Indicia, where I sell my artworks.
I love working across oil, acrylic, watercolor, and digital art, and I enjoy helping students explore different mediums until they discover what truly excites them. I believe life itself is a painting—filled with bold colors for the people who stay strong beside us, bright strokes for moments of joy, and imperfect little marks for the memories that shape us. Every shade, every line, every tiny stroke slowly coming together to create the masterpiece of who we are. I love sharing what I have because art is beyond me.

My lessons are all about curiosity, creativity, and fun. I like to create a space where students—especially children—feel safe to explore, experiment, and make a little mess along the way. Each class is a mix of playful learning, hands-on practice, and discovering new ways to express themselves through colour, shapes, and different art mediums like acrylic, watercolour, and digital art.
My style would be to pick what the student wants to work on and then teach techniques by incorporating it in that work. It’s my way of motivating. focus on building confidence as much as skills, so by the end of the lesson, every student walks away proud of what they’ve created—and usually with a big smile too!
