My Approach to Tutoring Graphic Design
I teach graphic design through a project-based, hands-on approach that blends creative thinking with real-world skills. Each lesson starts with a clear goal (e.g. “design a logo”, “build a poster”, “create a brand identity”) and ends with a tangible piece you can add to your portfolio.
Teaching Techniques & Methodology
Learn by doing: We work directly in design tools (Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) from the first lesson, so you build confidence while creating real projects.
Step-by-step breakdown: Complex tasks (layout, typography, color theory, branding) are broken into simple, repeatable steps with live demos and guided practice.
Critique & iteration: I show you how to give and receive constructive feedback, then refine your work just like in a professional studio.
Personalized pacing: Lessons adapt to your level and goals, whether you’re preparing for a school project, Leaving Cert DCG/Art, or building a portfolio for college or work.
Creative + technical balance: We cover both design thinking (concept, audience, messaging) and technical skills (tools, file setup, export, basic prep for print/digital).
Typical Lesson Length
Lessons are usually 60 minutes, with the option for 90-minute sessions for deeper project work or portfolio days.

I’m a professional graphic designer and art director with experience in agency and client work, including time at McCann World Group.
My background spans branding, visual identity, UI/UX, and digital design, so I can teach both traditional graphic design and modern digital applications.
I’m used to mentoring students and junior designers, explaining complex ideas in clear, practical terms.
