About Dan
I take pride in ensuring my students feel as comfortable as possible and my main focus is increasing confidence and self-esteem in their approach to Maths. The improvement in results come as a result of this.
My proudest moment as a Maths teacher is my experience with a timid year 7 who was too anxious to speak in lessons, let alone put her hand up and ask or answer a question. She massively struggled in tests and believed she "couldn't do maths". I started teaching her and through consistent positive reinforcement and encouragement, her confidence began to grow. Two years later, she has moved up two sets in her Maths class and will be pushing for the top grades at GCSE come year 11.
Alternatively, I have had many students with simply 0 interest in Maths. Through sheer determination I have helped them get through their GCSE and pass it. I believe my adaptablility to different students is one of my greatest assets as a teacher.
With a degree in Physics I am also able to help with Physics GCSE.

Fun and personable approach with a focus on improving results. I understand that a lot of young people do not enjoy Maths and just want to pass, I am here to facilate that. I also have confidence in taking students from one grade to the next regardless of current level and have had consistent success in that regard.
I have 5 years of experience at a secondary school working with students aged 11-16. I have worked with SEN as well as those pushing for 8s and 9s at GCSE.
My lessons are aimed at students of all ages taking their Maths GCSE.
