About Lukas

I have been a tutor since I was in seventh grade and have worked with students from elementary school all the way up to the undergraduate level.

What sets me apart as a tutor is that I use the concepts that I teach in a real-world engineering context almost every day in my job. Not only do I know how to study math and science, but I know how to put it to work!

I have always put an emphasis on building the foundational understanding that is needed to connect the dots and unlock students' abilities in math and science. I find that it is most helpful to break large problems down into small concepts, and then loop those back into real example problems that students encounter on homework or exams. I like having my students walk through problems step-by-step, using applications like virtual whiteboards that I can send to them after the lesson is finished to use as a resource.

About the lesson

Rocket scientist by day, tutor by night! I started tutoring when I was in 7th grade and have remained consistent for over a decade, from elementary to undergraduate students. From middle school through my time in college, tutoring was one of the primary income sources that I used to keep myself afloat financially. Though it started from a place of necessity, I grew to develop a passion for teaching that I keep with me to this day.

Through the years, I learned how to cater to the different styles of learning that my students had to make sure that they could all take value out of lessons. I value quality and excellence in my teaching- I want my students to feel confident in their material by the time we wrap up a lesson. Even though I want you to keep coming back for lessons, my goal is to teach so well that you don't need them anymore!

I have recently graduated from the University of Southern California and have begun my career as an aerospace engineer where I apply the same concepts that I teach to design and build spacecraft!
