About Trina laurene
My name is Trina Laurene, a dedicated and experienced educator with over 10 years of teaching experience in English Language Arts. I have taught diverse groups of learners both internationally and in the United States, which has strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching to meet different learning styles and academic needs.
I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Special Education, allowing me to better support students who require differentiated instruction, including struggling readers and learners who benefit from additional guidance. My background ensures that I approach each lesson with patience, structure, and a deep understanding of how students learn best.
As a professional educator, I am committed to creating a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I take pride in being organized, prepared, and consistent in delivering high-quality instruction tailored to each student’s goals.

My name is Trina Laurene, and my approach as a tutor is centered on creating a supportive, engaging, and student-focused learning environment where every learner feels confident and capable.
I use a structured yet flexible teaching method that combines explicit instruction with gradual release (I Do, We Do, You Do). I model skills clearly, guide students through practice, and then allow them to apply their learning independently. I also incorporate differentiated instruction to meet each student’s unique needs, especially for learners who may need additional support or enrichment.
A typical lesson begins with a quick warm-up or review to activate prior knowledge, followed by a focused mini-lesson on a specific reading or writing skill. We then practice together using guided activities, and students complete an independent task to demonstrate understanding. I always include a reflection or feedback portion to reinforce learning and build confidence.
What sets me apart is my 10 years of teaching experience, including international experience, and my current Master’s studies in Special Education. This allows me to effectively support diverse learners, including struggling readers, English language learners, and students who need tailored instruction. I focus not only on academic growth but also on building students’ confidence and love for learning.
My lessons are designed for elementary students, particularly Grades 3–5, who need support in reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary development, and test preparation. I also work well with students who benefit from structured guidance, interactive activities, and a patient, encouraging teaching style.
