I grew up in Christchurch speaking English then I moved up north to learn Te Reo at 8, I learned by the time I left primary school. I went on to teach my entire family to speak Māori in around 2 years!
Lessons will be around 1-2 hours depending on the extent of our work that day.
I will first teach you how to sound out words, Māori words are actually quite easy to sound out when you know the sounds, then a few basic kupu (words) then how to structure a sentence!
My lessons are for anyone who wishes to learn our beautiful language!
