About Hansini

Hi! I'm Hansini, a current undergraduate at the London School of Economics. To me, economics is fundamentally the study of choice, and not just our own. Corporations, governments, and individuals make billions of decisions every day, and what makes economics so endlessly fascinating is how the smallest variables and choices can send ripple effects throughout an entire economy.

That might sound intimidating at first, but my goal is to make those core concepts as clear and approachable as possible — so that economics becomes not just easy to understand, but genuinely enjoyable to learn. I strongly believe that with the right explanation, almost any student can develop an intuition for the subject.

I'm adaptable and approachable by nature, and I understand that good tutoring is deeply personal- what clicks for one student won't always work for another, which is why I tailor every lesson to the individual. Beyond the curriculum, I'm also happy to help with related areas like university applications and personal statements. About the lesson

My approach to economics tutoring centres on building genuine understanding rather than surface-level memorisation. I firmly believe that economics, at both GCSE and A-Level, is an incredibly intuitive subject when explained well, and my goal is to make that clarity accessible to every student I work with.

I use diagrams and real-world examples throughout my lessons to bring abstract concepts to life, helping students see how economic theory plays out in practice. Beyond understanding the fundamentals, I place particular emphasis on distinguishing between the nuances of different policies and arguments — the kind of analytical depth that separates good answers from truly excellent ones and is essential for top marks. Once a concept is covered, I regularly use past paper questions to ensure it is being applied accurately and in the depth that the exam demands; any errors become an immediate focus so we can understand exactly where they came from and prevent them from recurring.

My lessons are highly interactive by design; I actively check for misconceptions and address them immediately rather than letting gaps compound over time. Sessions typically run for one hour and are tailored to the individual student's needs and pace.

I have been tutoring GCSE and A-Level students for two years, and the majority of my students have seen at least two grade improvements — moving, for example, from a C to an A. My own academic background gives me a strong foundation to teach from: I placed in the 99th percentile in Microeconomics at LSE (among a cohort of 800 students), achieved the highest marks in the world for AS-Level Economics and the highest in India for A-Level, and scored 118/120 in my IGCSE. Economics is a subject I'm genuinely passionate about, and I hope to pass that enthusiasm on — especially to students who are currently finding it difficult.
