About Rory
I have spent eight insightful years guiding more than 270 students through the fascinating intersection of economics policy and real-world problem-solving. My academic background includes a master's degree in development economics and professional experience as a policy analyst at an international development organization where I worked on poverty reduction programs in multiple countries. I have taught in universities policy institutes and private tutoring settings working with students who want to use economics to make a positive impact on the world. My students have entered careers in international development public policy economic consulting and academia. I am particularly skilled at helping students understand the empirical foundations of economic policy and at connecting theoretical models to the complex realities of developing economies. I maintain an extensive collection of development data policy case studies and examination resources. Outside of teaching I volunteer with development organizations write about economic policy in developing countries and enjoy traveling to understand economic conditions firsthand. I believe that economics is a powerful tool for understanding and addressing global challenges and I am committed to helping every student develop the analytical skills to contribute to positive change.

My economics teaching is insightful and policy-focused designed to help students understand how economic analysis informs real-world decision-making at every level of society. For development economics I teach the theories and empirical evidence surrounding economic growth poverty reduction and structural transformation in low-income countries using case studies from Africa Asia and Latin America. Public policy is explored through the economic analysis of taxation education healthcare and environmental regulation teaching students to evaluate policy proposals using cost-benefit analysis and efficiency-equity trade-offs. Market analysis is taught through the study of industrial organization competition policy and the behavior of firms in different market structures using current examples from technology healthcare and energy markets. I emphasize the development of empirical skills teaching students to read and interpret economic data evaluate research methodologies and understand the limitations of economic models. Every lesson includes the analysis of current economic events policy debates and research findings. For examination preparation I teach systematic frameworks for policy evaluation essay writing and data interpretation. I also mentor students in developing research projects and preparing for economics competitions and university admissions.
