About Mariya
Hi! I am Mariya, an incoming first-year Law Student at the London School of Economics, and am tutoring A-Level Economics, GCSE & A-Level History and helping students write their perfect UCAS personal statement. I have over four years of tutoring experience by working at my local tuition centre, in which I worked closely with students and their parents to both address weak areas in their learning and to boost their confidence to achieve top results. This experience has equipped me with the skills needed to understand a student's individual needs and to formulate revision strategies that will provide them with a well-rounded understanding of their studies. This has also allowed me to understand the attributes that top universities are looking for when reading personal statements, enabling me to help curate unique and convincing statements that receive offers from prestigious academic institutions.

Achieving A*A*A* at A-Level (in Economics, English Literature and History) and having over four years' experience with one-to-one tutoring has equipped me to understand students' academic struggles and overcome them by helping create strategic and effective revision methods and exam strategies. In my lessons, I will utilise past papers, essay plans and detailed breakdowns of economic processes to ensure that students not only have an understanding of economics, but can also apply this knowledge to their exams in a succinct way that will ensure top marks. Incorporating current economic affairs in lessons, and applying it to the exam specification, will also enable students to gain a deeper understanding of economics in a real-world context and will enable them to access top-level marks by using these examples in their exams.
